Metabolism
Flumazenil, like the other benzodiazepines, is metabolized in
the liver, is rapidly cleared from plasma, and
has three known metabolites, N-desmethylflumazenil,
N-desmethylflumazenil acid, and flumazenil acid.

The activities of these metabolites and their
corresponding glucuronides are not known at present. The glucuronides are probably
excreted in urine.
