Other Blocks

Several other conduction blocks of nerves supplying the head are commonly used in adults but only occasionally in children for ophthalmic surgery, for operations involving the facial bones, or for dental procedures. These blocks often are not performed by anesthesiologists, and most of them require considerable expertise. Dental blocks especially may lead to severe or lethal complications. Bratt and colleagues^[291] have described these techniques.
