 Notice the three domains.  The transmembrane domains act as a ligand-binding pocket.
 Cytoplasmic domains can interact with G proteins and kinases, such as β-adrenergic
receptor kinase (β-ARK).  The latter can phosphorylate and desensitize the receptor.
