14. Check Final Status of the Machine

1. Vaporizers are off.
2. APL valve is open.
3. Selector is switched to Bag mode.
4. All flow meters are set to zero (or minimum).
5. Suction level is adequate for the patient.
6. Breathing system is ready to use.

*If an anesthesia provider uses the same machine in successive cases, these steps need not be repeated or may be abbreviated after the initial checkout.
