Prostate and Prostatic Urethra
The prostate and prostatic urethra receive both sympathetic and
parasympathetic supply from the prostatic plexus arising from the pelvic parasympathetic
plexus, which is joined by the hypogastric plexus. The spinal origin of the nerve
supply is primarily lumbosacral (see Fig.
54-2
).[3]
